We got word last week that our founder, R.C. “Buck” Wheeler has been inducted into the Appaloosa Horse Club Racing Hall of Fame–congratulations, Buck!
For those who don’t know, Buck has bred and raced several breeds of horses over the years, and has helped people with training issues with many more.
In the 1970s, he was one of the most successful racing Appaloosa trainers in the country. He was the runner-up for top trainer nationally by wins in 1972, and cinched the title in 1973 and 1974. He also owned a few high-profile horses, including Bucky’s Granite.
