Hello Faithful Admirers,
Paddy Cake here. I’ve been a little quiet on social media since my big announcement, and wanted to update you all as to my progress. I am still happily expecting, which made the timing of Christmas especially fortuitous (all those parties in the Back 40 with the county’s best treats really did wonders for my pregnancy cravings). My private physician continues to check on my progress, and assures me I have several months to go before the little one gets here.
My pregnancy has been an easy one so far, and I’m looking forward to seeing whether the Little One looks more like me or his father (if he knows what’s good for him, he’ll come out looking like me. Although I selected my sperm donor carefully, it wasn’t possible to find anyone out there as gorgeous as me). I am still working on training the Human on adjusting my carrot and alfalfa intake to my exacting specifications, but he is slowly making progress.
One thing that I’m doing to take care of myself is spending as many hours as I can lounging in the sunlight, even when it’s cold. Personally, I like to make a giant pillow of the rejected hay in my field and wallow in it. The Human dislikes this and refers to it as “wastage” that could be alleviated with a round bale holder; pot-ay-to, pot-ah-to.
Sunlight does wonders for any creature, and I’m especially interested in indulging as a way to catch up on my Vitamin D intake whenever I’m not busy eating. Sunlight is also a powerful force that can help when I deliver, too. Our EZ Solar Solution came out toward the end of last year, and our customers say it’s amazing how quickly the solar panels charge up the pump. Even if you get stuck away from the barn on a cloudy day, the milking system can be charged off a car adapter. It makes the milking process quick and comfortable for me, and The Human loves how easy it is to keep clean.
I’ve got to get back to my hay pile…more updates soon!
Love, Paddy Cake
